To promote the presentation of cutting-edge research achievements and foster interdisciplinary cross-pollination of ideas, our university successfully hosted the 2026 Annual Graduate Research Forum with the theme "Boundless Topics, Infinite Exploration" on April 28.
The forum gathered master's and doctoral students from the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Finance, Faculty of Health and Wellness, Institute of Urban and Sustainable Development, Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries, Faculty of International Tourism and Management, School of Law, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Data Science and Faculty of Innovation and Design joining together for this grand academic event.
The forum received enthusiastic submissions from graduate students across various faculties. Following a rigorous review process by an expert panel, 6 outstanding papers were selected for presentation in the main session, while 53 papers were showcased in the parallel sub-sessions.
The main session of the research forum commenced at Room HG02 in the Ho Yin Convention Centre. Vice Rector Professor Kuai Peng Ip delivered the opening address, warmly welcoming the attending guests, faculty members, and students. He noted that the forum upholds an academic philosophy of openness, inclusiveness, and diversity. With no thematic restrictions, professional boundaries, or limitations on research directions, it provides a broad platform for young scholars dedicated to exploration to express their ideas freely, showcase their strengths, and learn from one another. He encouraged students to cherish this opportunity, share their research insights based on their academic foundations, and inspire wisdom through discussion and mutual progress. He also emphasized the university's full commitment to supporting this forum and future academic initiatives, striving to build a higher-level platform for academic exchange and to promote overall academic prosperity.
Three parallel sub-forums were held simultaneously in rooms S404, S302, and WLG303. Graduate scholars delivered excellent academic presentations centered around themes such as "Urban and Sustainable Development" and "Interdisciplinary Frontier Exploration". The presentations, featuring rich content and clear arguments, demonstrated the rigorous academic attitudes and outstanding innovative thinking of these young researchers. The attending expert evaluators provided detailed and insightful commentary on each report, acknowledging the academic value of the findings while offering highly constructive guidance on methodology, application prospects, and areas for improvement.
The diverse interactive sessions provided participants with broader perspectives, fostering intellectual integration. The successful conclusion of this forum not only offered a valuable platform for graduate students to showcase their research and exchange ideas, but also significantly promoted academic collaboration across the university's faculties, injecting new vitality into our institutional disciplinary development.
