Research Ethics Approval Guidelines for Faculty Academic Members

Regarding the ethics approval process for academic members research, applicants should log into the CityU OA system, navigate to “CityU Notice” under “03 Research Management Office”, and retrieve the “Application Form for Ethical Approval”. The academic review procedure must be conducted in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Research Management Office.

Research Ethics Approval Guidelines for FOB Students

Regarding the student research proposal review process, applicants should refer to the FOB Student Research Ethics Approval Guidelines.

Step 1

All applicants shall finish the application online form (Online Form Click Here).

Step 2

Applicants shall download and complete the requisite attachments in accordance with the result of application online form and FOB Student Research Ethics Approval Guidelines. The required material(A01 FOB Student Research Ethics Approval Application Form) must be signed by both the applicant and supervisor before being emailed to the Faculty: fob@cityu.edu.mo for the review (the application deadline for each month is the 10th and 25th).

Step 3

Upon approval, Faculty will  assign a FOB Student Research Ethics Review Number and notify the applicant by email.

Notice:

1. Ethical review for relevant research must be submitted prior to commencing the study, rather than undergoing review after completion when preparing manuscripts for submission.

2. All sections requiring signatures must be completed in handwritten form (including E-signatures).

3. The review process normally takes 10–15 working days.
