September 5, 2025, The Faculty of Business at City University of Macau was fortunate to invite Professor Guoquan Chen, an internationally renowned management scholar from Qinghua University, delivered an intellectual feast on his groundbreaking "Spacetime Theory" for DBA students and scholars from both within and outside the institution. Confronted with limitless opportunities and challenges in life, a central aim of this lecture was to explore how to equip oneself with spacetime thinking. The discussion was structured around three key dimensions: the significance and function of spacetime thinking, the types and methodologies of spacetime thinking, and strategies and pathways to enhance spacetime thinking.

As a leading authority in China's management academia, Professor Chen has dedicated over two decades to the field of leadership development. His latest work, "Spacetime Theory," transcends traditional management frameworks by integrating multidisciplinary perspectives from philosophy, history, and management, offering contemporary leaders a novel paradigm of thought. At the outset of the lecture, Professor Chen emphasized, "In this new era characterized by globalization and digitalization, leaders must cultivate strategic thinking that encompasses both temporal and spatial dimensions to navigate complex changes and seize opportunities."

To deepen theoretical understanding, Professor Chen traversed historical and contemporary contexts, both Eastern and Western. Through examples ranging of spacetime strategy in wartime to the allocation of spacetime resources in the global of modern enterprises, he vividly demonstrated the practical application of spacetime thinking across various historical scenarios. Attending DBA students unanimously acknowledged that this interpretation, bridging history and modernity, transformed abstract philosophical concepts into actionable leadership tools.

This lecture not only broadened the academic perspectives of faculty and students at the Faculty of Business but also enriched the DBA programme with cutting-edge theoretical insights. In the future, the institution will continue to invite distinguished scholars from around the world to establish a high-level academic exchange platform, contributing wisdom and strength to the cultivation of leadership talent.
