On November 25, 2024, a delegation from the Business School of Xiangtan University, including Professor Julan Luo, Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Xinshuo Hou, Deputy Dean, and Professor Yong Zhan, Editorial Director of the Journal of Consumer Economics, visited the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau. The meeting was held based on the friendly cooperation agreement already signed between the two universities, where both parties discussed issues related to the joint establishment of the "Consumer Economics Research Center," aiming to clarify the direction of cooperation further and refine the details of the collaboration.

Representatives from the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of International Tourism and Management of City University of Macau, and the Business School of Xiangtan University participated in the meeting.

Professor José Alves, Dean of the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau, along with Professor José Paulo Afonso Esperança, Associate Dean, and Associate Professor Yihui Tian, Associate Dean, attended the meeting. The Faculty of Business of City University of Macau and the Business School of Xiangtan University introduced their respective faculties, programs and research achievements, laying a solid foundation for subsequent cooperation. During the substantive cooperation discussions, both sides reached a consensus to engage in deep collaboration in areas such as scientific research, academic conferences, and student exchanges.

At the end of the meeting, both parties emphasized the next steps, which include further refining the cooperation details based on the discussions and planning to sign a specific cooperation agreement to establish the partnership formally. The successful holding of this meeting marks an important step towards substantial cooperation between the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau and the Business School of Xiangtan University based on friendly cooperation. This series of collaborations will help enhance the academic influence of both parties.
