On November 28, under the guidance of Associate Professor Tiffany Cheng Han Leung, students from the MBA course on Sustainable Enterprise Policy Management (Class 2F) of the Faculty of Business embarked on a visit to MGM Macau. During this trip, the students not only gained an in-depth understanding of the company's operational model but also experienced MGM's efforts and achievements in sustainability and corporate culture firsthand.
The first part of the trip involved an exchange with Ms. Ruby O, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability & Business Synergy at MGM Macau. Ms. Ruby, with her exceptional perspective, provided a detailed introduction to MGM's ambitious blueprint, ranging from the company's planning vision to its current development status and future directions. Her presentation allowed students to deeply appreciate MGM's prominent position in the global market and the wisdom and foresight behind it.
Following this, the students visited the Poly MGM Museum, a space covering nearly 2,000 square meters. The exhibits, spanning ancient to modern times, included everything from ancient pottery and jade to contemporary oil paintings and sculptures, all of which left the students in awe. Notably, the high-tech exhibition methods, such as interactive OLED display cabinets and VR and AR technologies, enabled the students to better understand the historical background and value of each artifact, bridging the gap between them and the cultural relics.
Among the exhibits was a themed exhibition titled " The Maritime Silk Road -- Discover the mystical seas and encounter the treasures of the ancient trade route," showcasing 184 groups of 228 precious artifacts and artworks, including national treasures like the four bronze animal heads from the Old Summer Palace. This experience transported the students through the river of history, allowing them to feel the profound heritage of Silk Road culture.
This visit was a valuable learning opportunity for the students, deepening their understanding of business operations through practice and inspiring reflections on their future careers. The students expressed that such corporate visits not only enriched their academic perspectives but also strengthened their awareness of corporate social responsibility and sustainability, laying a solid foundation for their future business journeys.
