Recently, Professor Kevin Hannam from the Faculty of Business participated in the MOB24 workshop held from July 3 to 5, at the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Girona in Spain. The workshop was organized by CICONIA, a project of the Tourism Research Institute (INSETUR), attracting over 35 registered participants and successfully bringing together experienced scholars and researchers united in their pursuit of understanding the intricate dynamics of lifestyle migration across international landscapes.
The workshop "Transformative Societies, Migration and Lifestyle at the Crossroads in Space and Place" aimed to convene a group of experts, scholars, and researchers in training to analyze the scale of lifestyle migration at national and international levels while considering the diverse expressions of this phenomenon across different regions and social backgrounds.
During the workshop, Professor Hannam delivered a presentation titled "Rethinking the Visual in Tourism Mobilities Research: Art, Photography, and Film." His insightful discourse ignited a spirited dialogue among participants, as he illuminated the transformative potential of art, photography, and film in reshaping our understanding of tourism mobilities research, introducing innovative perspectives and methodologies.
The Faculty of Business will continue to support faculty members in attending various international workshops in the future, fostering academic exchange and collaboration to enhance the school's global influence.
