From July 27 to August 9, 9 students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and the Faculty of Finance (FOF) of the City University of Macau, led by Assistant Professor Tiffany Cheng Han Leung, participated in a two-week exchange program at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Australia.
During the exchange, the students were warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Gerhard Van de Venter, Associate Dean of the UTS Business School, and Associate Professor Grace Li, Associate Dean of the UTS Faculty of Law. The two associate deans each gave inspiring lectures for the students. The students shared that these engaging and informative lectures greatly expanded their cultural horizons and professional knowledge.
In addition to the academic lectures, the exchange program also included industry field visits and cultural tours. Through the combination of theoretical learning, practical training, and artistic experience, the aim is to comprehensively enhance the students’ international vision and cross-cultural communication skills, and deepen the academic and scientific research partnership between the City University of Macau and the University of Technology Sydney.
During the exchange program, the students personally experienced the unique charm of the University of Technology Sydney - from its open and inclusive campus environment to the diverse student community, to the learning atmosphere closely connected with the city life, all of which deeply inspired them. The students expressed their eagerness to have more opportunities to learn and progress together with their peers from the University of Technology Sydney in the future.
One student shared, "The vibrant learning experience at the University of Technology Sydney is still unforgettable. The intense collision of ideas in the classroom, and the rich and colorful club activities on Open Day, all left a deep impression. Here, I made many friends from all over the world and deeply felt the open and inclusive campus atmosphere of the University of Technology Sydney."
Another student stated, "I am very grateful to the Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau for providing this valuable opportunity, allowing me to participate in the exchange program at the University of Technology Sydney. This study experience in Australia has given me a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and the open academic atmosphere. Looking back on my experience at the University of Technology Sydney, I not only learned professional knowledge but more importantly, I broadened my international perspective and enhanced my cross-cultural communication abilities."
The successful organization of this exchange program not only enhanced the students' international vision, innovation, and practical abilities, but also paved the way for further academic and research collaboration between the City University of Macau and the University of Technology Sydney.
