FOB Faculties visited the universities in Australia

From 31st July to 9th August, assistant Prof. Farzad Sabetzadeh, program coordinator (IBC) and Assistant Prof. Tiffany C. H. Leung, program coordinator (BBA Year 3-4) , visited six universities in Australia. They had campus tour and conversations with the universities representatives. Their visiting can provide more opportunities and platforms for FOB students to participate in exchange programs and experience life in Australia.  The six universities are Macquarie University, University of New South Wales (UNSW), University of Wollongong (UOW), University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Western Sydney University (WSU), and the University of Sydney (USYD).


Macquarie University

Macquarie University is a public research university based in Sydney, Australia, in the suburb of Macquarie Park. Founded in 1964 by the New South Wales Government, it was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney. Established as a verdant university, Macquarie has five faculties, as well as the Macquarie University Hospital and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, which are located on the university's main campus in suburban Sydney.


The University of New South Wales

The University of New South Wales (UNSW), also known as UNSW Sydney, is a public research university based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.  It is one of the founding members of Group of Eight, a coalition of Australian research-intensive universities. Established in 1949, UNSW is a research university and a member of Universities 21, a global network of research universities.  It has international exchange and research partnerships with over 200 universities around the world.  UNSW is best known in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and ranked highly in both domestic and international university-ranking tables.


The University of Wollongong

The University of Wollongong (UOW) is an Australian public research university located in the coastal city of Wollongong, New South Wales, approximately 80 kilometres south of Sydney.  As of 2023, the university had an enrolment of more than 33,000 students (including over 12,300 international students), an alumni base of more than 176,000 [LC1] and over 2,400 staff members including 16 Distinguished professors.


The University of Technology Sydney

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The university was founded in its current form in 1988, though its origins as a technical institution can be traced back to 1878, through the Sydney Technical College, which was the predecessor to the New South Wales Institute of Technology (NSWIT). UTS is a founding member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN), and is a member of Universities Australia (UA) and the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN).


Western Sydney University

Western Sydney University (WSU), formerly the University of Western Sydney, is an Australian multi-campus public research university in the Greater Western region of Sydney, Australia.The university in its current form was founded in 1989 as a federated network university with an amalgamation between the Nepean College of Advanced Education and the Hawkesbury Agricultural College. It is a provider of undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher research degrees with campuses in Bankstown, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta, and Penrith.


The University of Sydney

The University of Sydney (USYD), also known as Sydney University, or informally Sydney Uni, is a public research university located in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1850, it is the oldest university in Australia and is one of the country's six sandstone universities. It was one of the first universities in the world to admit students solely on academic merit, and opened their doors to women on the same basis as men. The university comprises eight academic faculties and university schools, through which it offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees.
