The 2017 annual academic meeting of The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education took place successfully on 3 and 4 December 2017, hosted by The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education, organized by the Beijing Society of Vocational and Technical Education, and sponsored by the Beijing Information Management School and the Shenzhen Polytechnic.
Attending the annual meeting were Zhang Tianbao, former vice Minister of the PRC’s Ministry of Education, President of the Third Council and Advisor to the Fourth Council of The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education; Wang Jiping, Director of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the PRC’s Ministry of Education, and Executive Vice President of The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education; Zhang Li, Secretary of the National Education Advisory Committee and former Director of the Education Development Research Center of the PRC’s Ministry of Education; Wang Yangnan, Director of the Institute of Vocational and Technical Education of the PRC’s Ministry of Education; Liu Laizhen, Consultant to The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education, and Head of the Experts Group of the Nationwide Vocational Education Group; Liu Zhanshan, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education; and several Vice Presidents of The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education.
At the annual meeting, Wang Jiping, Director of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the PRC’s Ministry of Education, awarded Ph. D student Dai Guobao awarded The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education’s first prize for an outstanding research programme.
With the encouragement and support of Prof. Khong Yueng Wah, Dai Guobao published two Core Chinese Papers of Peking University. He also won RMB$20,000 Project funding from The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education.
During the process of research, City University of Macau also provided strong support. Mr. Kyan Su Lone, a Council Member of City U, funded the publication of a monograph entitled "Studies on the Paths and Effects of Strategic Alliances in Private Higher Vocational Colleges", laying a solid foundation for the smooth conclusion of the research programme.
After the research programme was completed, with full support from President Zhang Shuguang, former Principal Pang Su-Seng, Vice President Kong Fanqing and his mentor Prof. Khong Yueng Wah, the project successfully underwent evaluation by The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education.
Due to his outstanding performance during his university studies, Dai Guobao successfully completed a post-doctoral tutor internship with the Ocean University of China in 985 Engineering University and entered the Postdoctoral Research Station of Ocean University of China for scientific research.
