On May 4, 2017, City University of Macau hosted a visit by Prof. Katy Campbell, Dean of the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension; Mr. Martin Guardado, the Academic Director; and Ms. Mimi Hui, the Executive Director. Prof. Kong Fanqing, the Vice Rector, and Dr. Eva Khong, the Executive Associate Director, welcomed the guests and held a meeting on their forthcoming cooperation.
Prof. Kong briefly introduced the recent development of City U, highlighting the recent upgrading and future directions of the Faculty of Business. Prof. Katy Campbell introduced the University of Alberta. Both parties began discussing different potential joint projects, such as student exchanges, joint degree programmes, and collaborative teacher training. They expect to establish closer cooperation between the universities.
After the meeting, Dr. Khong accompanied Prof Campbell and her colleagues to a meeting with the International Business Cohort students, who will be taking part in an exchange programme at the University of Alberta this coming July. The group gave the students a background briefing on Canada and the environment, culture, and customs of the University of Alberta, welcoming them in advance and wishing them all a great study experience there.
The University of Alberta, which is well-known highly regarded in every field, was founded more than a century ago in Canada. Among its notable alumni are local Prime Ministers, judges and governors. City University of Macau and the University of Alberta have signed a MOU, to provide exchange opportunities for City U students.
