FOB invites Prof. Zhao Shuming to deliver a seminar on China's human resource management

On 5th May, the Faculty of Business invited Professor Zhao Shuming, Honorary Dean of Nanjing University, to deliver a seminar on "Contemporary Hotspots, Difficulties, Challenges and Forefronts of China's Human Resource Management". Prof. Kong Fanqing, Vice Rector of City University of Macau, and Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, were invited to attend the seminar, which was held at the Taipa Campus Ho Yin Convention Centre.

Prof. Zhao Shuming, Honorary Dean of Nanjing University's Business School, now heads the Corporate Human Resource Development Research Center of Jiangsu Province. He has written dozens of scientific studies for the Ministry of Education, the State Council, the State Education Commission, and similar bodies. He has published dozens of articles, translations, and textbooks, and hundreds of pieces in global academic publications. His teaching and scientific research have won him more than thirty awards.

During the seminar, Prof. Zhao discussed various viewpoints on how to apply global human resource management research theories and practices to China's real situation in terms of contemporary social economic and scientific development and cross-cultural management. He also raised the topic of the broad applicability of HRM practices and how they may be adapted to suit different systems and cultures. In the question and answer period, Prof. Zhao and FOB teachers and students continued to discuss China's economic development and human resource management.
