City U Holds a Successful Open Day FOB Alumni Have a Pleasant Gathering

On 29th April, the City University of Macau held its Open Day at the Taipa Campus. Under the broad theme of Open Day: City U Journey, the Faculty of Business exhibited academic theses and scientific reports by both teachers and students, set up booths on its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and held an FOB Alumni Gathering.  During the Alumni Gathering, Professor Shu Guang Zhang was invited to meet with alumni, in an enjoyable session in which he shared with them recent developments at City U and the FOB.

At the Gathering, held in Room L105 of Luso-Chinese Building, Rector Zhang thanked the alumni for their support of City U’s development and the Open Day. Rector Zhang told them that in every modern city, there is always a City University. City University of Macau insists on encouraging its students to study and live with the city. Rector Zhang introduced the Faculty of Business as the flagship of City U, at the forefront of its team in terms of pathbreaking programmes and activities. He gave the example of the International Business Cohort of the Bachelor of Business Administration, which brought together top talents in the BBA field, with the objective of educating educate students to become experts in finance and leadership, who would benefit Macao and the Pearl River Delta.

Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of the FOB, described the rapid development of the FOB after the move to the Taipa Campus. She gave warm thanks to both City U and Rector Zhang for their support and guidance. Dr. Khong greatly appreciated the support the alumni have given to the development of the faculty, through the establishment of Experiential and Entrepreneurial Practice-based activities, and by hosting Exchanges and Visits, Research, Internships, and so forth. The FOB will continue to assist in serving as a communication platform between City U and alumni and alumni and students.

Dozens of alumni attended the Gathering and enjoyed the opportunity to talk with Rector Zhang. Their status and experience make City U’s connections and exchanges with them extremely valuable.

On the second floor of the Luso-Chinese Building, the FOB set up booths on undergraduate and postgraduate studies, which displayed students’ books, reports, academic theses, and research results. Some games were used to promote information on these programmes to the public. FOB teachers answered guests’ questions in person during Open Day. The student representatives also assisted with the work and shared their own experiences with the guests.
