On 18th November, Faculty of Business (FOB) organized a Macao Foundation funded seminar, Writing for an Academic Journal: Knowledge for SCCI/SCI- Listed Publication.

It is FOB’s great honor to have invited the two Honorary Professors of FOB: Professor Chan Tsang-sing and Professor Dean Tjosvold to draw on their experience as authors and reviewers.They advised the 70 students attending the seminar on journal articles writing.

Professor Tjosvold stressed on the importance of communication and cooperation in the process of topic selection, preparation and journal writing. He stated that communication would inspired new ideas. Also, he pointed out that a good research framework and consistent effort were essential in writing journal articles.

Professor Chan sumarized the keys in writing journal articles: First, researchers must have great interest in the chosen topics. Second, it is needed to be organized during the writing process. First draft should be revised several times and researchers should ask for advices when needed. Third, he recommended students and faculty members to look into the background and research directions of the journals before writing. This will allow their chosen topics to match the research direction and boost the possiblity of being published.

In the seminar, faculty members and students were divided into several groups. In groups, participants discussed the keys of journal writing. After the sharing of  Professor Tjosvold and Professor Chan, questions were asked and the two professors answered them patiently. To conclude, this is a rewarding seminar for the faculty members and students.
