Seminar on Youth Employment, Entrepreneurship and Homeownership

On 11th November, the Faculty of Business organized "Seminar on Youth Employment, Entrepreneurship and Homeownership" in the lecture hall of Ho Yin Convention Centre, City University of Macau. Sponsored by the Macao Foundation, the seminar provided a platform for us to study and understand the value of life and work for the youth in the diverse economy of Macau.

 

Professor Yang Fang, council member of the Chinese Association of Higher Education; Dr. Yang Hao, General Manager of Nam Tung (Macao) Investment Ltd.; and Mr. Xu Mu, Eeputy General Manager of Hengqin Financial Investment, were invited to be the guest speakers of the seminar. Professor Yang took "thinking" as an entry point, inspiring students to think about their future. She stressed that people can achieve success only by planning and practicing. Professor Yang provided current examples of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Central South University, demonstrating how students succeed in starting their own businesses. Dr. Yang discussed the issues affecting homeownership in today's society using examples from Macau and Hengqin. Dr. Yang urged students not to be swim with the tide in the housing market, but to consider various factors before purchasing properties. Base on the "INNO VALLEY HQ" project, Mr. Xu explained the 3Qs in entrepreneurship: How to think? What to do? How to do? He encouraged students to start their own businesses in the INNO valley.

 

More than a hundred teachers and students participated in the seminar. Professor Zhang Shuguang, Rector of City U; Professor Leong Man Wai, Vice Rector of City U; Mr. Jason Kuok, Director of Finance Division; Professor Cai Zhiming, Head of Academic Affairs Office and Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of FOB attended the event.
