Bank of China and City University of Macau Held “The Bank of China Forum” to Find the Special Way for Local Financial Industry

Bank of China (Macau Branch) and Faculty of Business of City University of Macau reached an agreement to jointly organized “The Bank of China Forum”. The opening ceremony successfully conducted at Ho Yin Convention Center of CityU on October 19th. Representatives from Bank of China (Macau Branch) are Mr. Jiang Kuiwei, the Assistant General Manager, Ms. Chen Fen, the Director of Banking Business Management Department, Mr. Shu You Jun, the Director of Executive Office, Mr. Su Kun, the Deputy Director of Human Resources Department, Ms. Choi Ieng Chi, the Deputy Director of Personal Banking Department, Mr. Ngan Iek Hang, the Deputy General Manager of Hung Kai Sie Sub-branch. Representatives from City University of Macau are Professor Kong Fanqing, the Vice Rector of CityU, Mr Chan Chon Pat, the Secretary General of the Preparatory Committee of the Council of CityU, and Dr. Khong Yuen Wah, the Executive Associate Dean of FOB.

 

The forum aims at popularize integrated financial knowledge through the cooperation of the bank and the university. Experts are invited from Bank of China to give three series of seminars discussing local financial industry development. All experts would share their working experience and viewpoints of financial industry status and future to CityU students and the public.

 

Professor Kong Fanqing, the Vice Rector of City University of Macau delivered an opening speech to introduce the nature of the forum. The forum will analyze Macao new normal economic environment and techniques to discuss the local financial status and future development, especially on the field of economic moderate diversification. It is believed that the series of seminars are meaningful as well as applicable to both industry and academia.

 

The first seminar of the forum was presenting after the opening ceremony. Mr. Shu You Jun, the Executive Office Director of Bank of China (Macau)presenting an in-depth discussion in the aspect of on “Macao’s Way on Individual and Diversified Financial Development”, which was about the advantages and techniques on local financial industry, especially in the field of diversification. Mr. Shu also shared his opinions on "One Belt, One Road" and Premier Li Keqiang’s Financial Policies announced during the recent visit at Macau. He also discussed on the highlights as a reference to the government and society. There are hundreds of teachers and students from Business Cohort and Faculty of Business of CityU attended the seminar to study and have a good share of the knowledge.

 

The other two seminars of “Bank & Finance Forum” will be held on November and December. All students and participants form the public are all welcomed to attend the forthcoming series forum. Details will be posted on www.cityu.edu.mo.
