On October 12th, the CGMA Qualification and Management Accounting Career Forum, organized by Faculty of Business (FOB) and Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), was successfully held at HG02, Convention Centre, City University of Macau. Ms. Yeman Tsang, the BD and Marketing Manager of CIMA HK, acted as the MC of the Forum. Ms. Erica Chen, the Market Director of CIMA HK, Ms. Amy Lam, the Group Finance Director of HK Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. and the Past Chairlady of CIMA HK, Mr. Samuel Ng, the Senior Financial Controller of Terumo BCT (AP) Ltd. and a member of CIMA HK Committee, and Ms. Michelle Cao, the Associate of Investment Banking Division of South China Group and 2015 CIMA qualified member, were invited to be the panelists of the Career Forum and shared their experience with over 120 students and teachers in the Forum. Prof. Kong Fanqing, the Vice Rector of CityU, attended the Career Forum and presented souvenirs to the guests and speakers on behalf of CityU.
Ms. Yeman Tsang began by introducing the CIMA background and new association creation which renamed to CGMA designation for students to enable a better understanding about CGMA and CIMA. As CIMA and CityU signed the MOU on August 30th, Ms. Tsang further illustrated the examination structure and the exemptions for BBA and MBA students, in order to provide students with more information on how to get their diploma quicker.
It was followed by the panelists exploring the topics of development of Management Accounting and the application of Management Accounting business nowadays and discussing with students about their enquiries regarding the relevant topic. Advices on career planning were giving to students by panelists before the closing of the Forum.
The Career Forum was warmly welcome by all students and they showed keen and interest and further discuss with the panelists after the forum. There will be a forthcoming CGMA Info Session for MBAs for MBA students to know more about the examination and qualification on October 26, 2016.
