On September 1st and 2nd, Faculty of Business (FOB) successfully held the undergraduate and postgraduate new students meeting respectively. Dr. Khong Yueng Wah, Executive Associate Dean of FOB, Professor Fong Kwong Yee, Course Coordinator of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Dr. Lou Shiyan,Course Coordinator of Bachelor of Applied Economics (BAE), Professor Priscilla Roberts, Course Coordinator of International Business Cohort, and all the academic and administrative staff members of FOB attended the Faculty Meetings.
The Faculty Meeting started with an opening speech delivered by Dr. Khong, the Executive Associate Dean. Dr. Khong presented a brief introduction on the development of teaching, student learning and research outcomes of FOB in the recent years. The International Business Cohort Program, which newly launched in this academic year, managed to attract renowned professors and entrepreneurs worldwide to teach on this program. The program aimed to cultivate and train more students as well as to equip with leadership skill and the ability to think critically and be compatible in the future. She further articulated that students should focus on the academic learning as well as the practical experience outside the classroom and sincerely wish all the new students can enjoy their life in FOB, in CityU. It was followed by an introduction of the various course coordinators and the academic staff members. Administrative Officer, Ms. Dong Xumei, together with other administrative staff members introduced their administrative duties and remarked that students are most welcome to approach them whenever they have enquiries.
During the Q&A session, students actively raised questions regarding the topics concerning exchange program, scholarship, internship opportunities, etc. Teaching and administrative staff members responded warmly and answered to the questions in detail. The interaction between the faculty members and the new students not only serve to help the new students to clarify what they were doubtful but also what they need to achieve in their studies in FOB, and to encourage them to better plan and prepare for their career development subsequently. The Faculty Meeting ended with good blessings and wish all students a happy stay in Macau.
