Three student teams from the Faculty of Business achieved outstanding results by winning Silver Awards at the China Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao Accounting and Business Case Competition 2026, organized by China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) Commercial Chamber of Commerce (also known as China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-Council, CCPIT CSC).
The final round of the competition was held on 25 July 2026 in Hong Kong. Participating teams were required to submit a written business plan and deliver a 15‑minute presentation and Q&A session on the designated case company, iFlytek Co., Ltd. FOB sent three teams to Hong Kong on 25 July to present their reports. All three teams performed strongly and were awarded Silver Awards, reflecting their solid foundation in accounting and finance, as well as their analytical and presentation skills.
The first team, comprising Ou Zhou, Zhao Yiyang, Ling Tianle and Chen Yitong, was supervised by Senior Lecturer Cheong Hang I and Assistant Professor Yu Bangxing. The second team, formed by Xiu Yuhan, Liu Sitong, Yin Shiyu and Yang Jiahui, was supervised by Senior Lecturer Cheong Hang I and Associate Professor Leung Cheng Han. The third team was a cross‑faculty collaboration between the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Finance, and consisted of Chen Letian, Chen Siying, Wang Xinqi, Xue Minxing and Zeng Kairan, under the supervision of Professor Zhou Yonghong and Senior Lecturer Cheong Hang I.
Through in‑depth case analysis of iFlytek Co., Ltd. and intensive preparation for their business plans and presentations, the students gained valuable hands‑on experience in financial analysis, strategic planning and professional communication. They also benefited from exchanging ideas with peers from top universities across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, and all participants reflected that they had learned a great deal from these valuable experiences.
Reflecting on the competition, the first team shared: “It’s a great honor to win the silver award in this competition! Thanks to every member of our team for full efforts, as well as to our instructors Cathy and Bangxu for their meticulous guidance and patient advice! This silver award is the result of teamwork and also enables us to see our own shortcomings. Awards are not the end. In the future, we will continue to strengthen our professional capabilities, adhere to rational and prudent analytical thinking, and constantly explore and grow in business studies.”
The second team remarked: “During the preparation of the competition, each of us sacrificed our summer break and put in significant effort for the team. As a result, every member was able to show their own strengths, professions and talents during the competition. Through communicating with the judges, we gained a clearer understanding of both our advantages and areas for improvement. We hope to apply and practice what we have learned in our future academic pursuits.”
The third team reflected: “Our team participated in the Accounting and Business Management Case Competition. Acting as business strategy consultants, we conducted an in-depth study of iFLYTEK and developed a three-year business plan for the company covering 2026 to 2028. At the beginning, our report was little more than a collection of information. Through continuous research, however, we learned how to identify real business problems from financial data. We carefully reviewed the company’s annual reports, refined our financial models, and revised our arguments. With a clear division of responsibilities, we relied on evidence to resolve disagreements, repeatedly rehearsed our presentation, and supported one another throughout the development of the proposal. Ultimately, our team received the Silver Award. The competition helped us recognise the areas in which we still need to improve, particularly our professional knowledge and presentation skills. It also gave us an opportunity to apply what we had learned in practice, strengthen our hands-on abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of genuine teamwork. We learned that a sound business solution requires reliable data, open team discussion, and a continuous process of review and refinement.”
The Faculty of Business congratulates all participating students and their supervisors on their remarkable achievements and their commitment to academic excellence and experiential learning.
