From July 15 to 16, 2026, a delegation of faculty and students from the Faculty of Business, City University of Macau, visited Foshan, Guangzhou, and Jiangmen for an exchange and inspection tour. Led by Dean Prof. José Alves and Assistant Professor Limeng Yu, the delegation aimed to strengthen ties with leading agricultural and tech-innovation enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, deepen Guangdong-Macao collaboration in industry-academia-research integration, innovation and entrepreneurship, and alumni network development, while bringing together outstanding alumni and industry experts to discuss shared growth.

On July 15, the first stop was the Headquarters of the Guangdong Agricultural Innovation Institute. Accompanied by institute representatives, Dean José Alves took part in the Alumni Forum of Faculty of Business, City University of Macau, & Guangdong-Macao Entrepreneurship Exchange Forum: "Innovate the Bay, Build the Future". The session opened with a work report from the Guangdong Agricultural Innovation Center, followed by entrepreneurial project presentations from alumni and entrepreneurs across various fields, covering modern agriculture, biotechnology, smart farming, and more, fully demonstrating the vibrant innovative spirit of the Guangdong-Macao region. Subsequently, expert panelists provided in-depth feedback on the presentations, sparking lively discussions on entrepreneurial trends and resource integration. During the open networking session, alumni reconnected and shared industry insights. The Faculty of Business has always been committed to bridging academia and industry, and this visit to Guangdong was designed to bring faculty, students, and alumni closer to the innovative energy of the Greater Bay Area while exploring further opportunities for industry-academia-research collaboration.

The following day, the delegation visited Moon (Guangzhou) Biotech Co., Ltd. In the afternoon, the group toured the Ligong Tangerine Peel Museum in Jiangmen and attended a special presentation on the tangerine peel industry. Through on-site visits, participants gained an understanding of the role of this traditional specialty industry in rural revitalization, while also discussing ways to leverage Macau's international platform to promote the branding and globalization of specialty agricultural products.

This Guangdong tour was not only an in-depth industrial inspection but also a successful alumni-gathering event. During the sessions, Dean José Alves reaffirmed the critical importance of alumni networks to the Faculty's development and listened to alumni suggestions regarding the future.
