On April 14 2026, Associate Professor Tiffany Leung from the FOB led a group of third-year IBC students to visit the Grand Lisboa Palace under SJM Resorts. The purpose of this visit was to provide students with first-hand experience of the resort’s efforts and concrete achievements in the field of sustainable development.
During the visit, Ms. Angelica Loi, Manager of the Sustainability Department, gave a detailed introduction to the resort’s ESG policies, strategic planning, and future organisational goals. Subsequently, onsite staff presented the group’s overall hotel portfolio, enabling students to gain a clearer understanding of SJM Resorts’ operational scale and diversified businesses. The students were guided by staff members to tour three distinctively styled hotels – The KARL Lagerfeld, Palazzo Versace, and Grand Lisboa Palace. Through this on-site visit, students gained in-depth insights into the specific sustainability measures implemented by these hotels, including the use of renewable energy and green building design.
This visit has effectively enhanced the students’ understanding of corporate social responsibility. The FOB will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with various organisations, jointly promoting the sustainable development of the tourism industry in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, and creating more green value for society.
