2025 Greater Bay Area Graduate Research Forum, Showcasing the International Education of FOB

Jointly organized by the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau, Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Southern University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, and Southern Medical University (in no particular order), the 2025 Greater Bay Area Graduate Research Forum was recently held successfully at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Professor José Alves, Dean of the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau, was invited as a distinguished guest and speaker and delivered keynote speeches at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the forum.


At the opening ceremony, Professor José Alves extended sincere greetings and a warm welcome to all faculty and students. He expressed great anticipation for the academic achievements to be presented, confident that the forum would be filled with highlights and brilliance. Professor Alves emphasized the importance of continuously discovering high-quality projects with fresh perspectives and strong potential. He advocated leveraging Macau’s unique position and cultural advantages as the “China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Platform” to promote outstanding research achievements internationally, aiming to enhance both academic influence and societal value in Portuguese-speaking countries and on broader global stages.


This year’s forum attracted 238 enthusiastic student participants. After intense competition, Yulin YANG, a second-year graduate student from the City University of Macau, won the Wiley Excellence Award. The outstanding performance of students from the Faculty of Business not only brought honor to the university but also showcased the advanced level and achievements of its graduate education, reflecting the success of the faculty’s internationalized educational approach.


During the keynote speech at the award ceremony, Professor José Alves warmly congratulated the successful hosting of the forum. He highly praised the international characteristics demonstrated by the research presented and recognized the forum as a high-level academic exchange platform for graduate students. Looking ahead, Professor Alves highlighted Macau’s unique resource advantages as the “China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Platform” and encouraged young scholars to use this bridge to advance high-quality research projects toward diversified and international development, jointly shaping a new technological landscape for the future of the Greater Bay Area.
