Strategic Leadership Skills – Leading for the Future
Main Speaker:
Professor Ana Passos
Speaker Profile:
Ana Passos is Full Professor in the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior at Iscte Business School and integrated member of the Business Research Unit - Research Group of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources. She has a PhD in Social and Organizational Psychology and Habilitation in Management. Ana Passos has been investigating the drivers of team effectiveness and adaptability over time. Her research in this area began to focus on the characteristics of the team members (team diversity) and on team processes, as is the case of team conflicts. More recently, she has been investigating the role of cognitions (team mental models and transactive memory systems), and behaviors (e.g., team leadership, team learning behaviors) on team effectiveness and adaptation with a temporal focus.
Ana Passos was PI in several funded national and European research projects, participated in several international networks (e.g., INGRoup, EURAM) and collaborated with several private and public organizations (e.g., banking, insurance and health sector). She published 38 articles in top scientific journals (AJG 4 or 3; Q1 or Q2 in Scopus or WoS), 18 articles in other scientific journals, 23 book chapters (8 international). Most of these articles were written in collaboration with PhD students or colleagues from other national and international universities with whom she has been carrying out research activities.
In 2022 Ana Passos took on a new challenge as Vice-Rector for Academic Model and Research at Universidade Europeia (service commission for 2 years), a private university operating in Portugal. She was responsible for setting up a Science Management Office, hiring specialized managers and defining the operating structure; for developing the University's research strategy and implementing a series of measures aimed at increasing scientific production of excellence, attracting more external funding and getting students more involved in research activities.
