The "2025 China Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao Accounting and Business Case Competition," organized by the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), and supported by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA Group), was successfully held at Hong Kong Baptist University. Nine teams from various universities in Mainland China and the Macao region competed in this prestigious event. The Faculty of Business (FOB) of City University of Macau (CityU) fielded several student teams, ultimately winning the championship. The team, comprising Jiayang Zong, Xinwen Chang, and Xinran Ren from the Bachelor of Business Administration's International Business Cohort Programme, emerged victorious.
The competition, which combined case analysis and presentation with on-site defense, primarily assessed participants' ability to apply financial and accounting information to business research and analysis. It provided students with opportunities to experience corporate practice, simulate management and management accounting decision-making, and enhance their employability. In this competition, three student teams from the City University of Macau Faculty of Business demonstrated outstanding business analysis skills and strong teamwork. Under the meticulous guidance of Lecturer Mona Xu and Associate Professor Tiffany Leung, students Jiayang Zong, Xinwen Chang, and Xinran Ren from the Bachelor of Business Administration's International Business Cohort (IBC) Programme won the championship and the Gold Medal for their exceptional case analysis skills and innovative thinking. Five students from the IBC Programme, LangLang Jiang, Ziming Yan, Wenhao Zhang, Bohan Cui, and Yi Ma, won the Silver Medal under the meticulous guidance of Associate Professor Tiffany Leung and Senior Lecturer Cathy Cheong. Another student team, Ling Peng, Zhou Ou, Ziqian Qu, and Yiyang Zhao from the IBC Programme, won the Silver Medal under the joint guidance of Senior Lecturer Cathy Cheong and Assistant Professor Bangxing Yu.
This competition not only provided students with a platform to showcase their professionalism and challenge their limits, but nd exchange among faculty and students from universities in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macaoalso provided a valuable platform for mutual learning a. The outstanding performance of City University of Macau students and faculty in this competition further demonstrates the effectiveness of the Faculty of Business's teaching in enhancing students' business analysis and practical problem-solving skills.
