Recently, the "Wellness Ambassador Programme," jointly organized by the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau and the Wofoo Joseph Lee Consulting and Counselling Psychology Research Centre of Lingnan University, reached a significant milestone. A series of concluding activities were successfully held on April 2, marking the successful completion of this phase of training and practice.

The programme aims to equip students with the skills to become key advocates for mental health promotion on campus. Through four structured sessions, participants delved into essential topics such as stress management strategies, growth mindset, resilience, gratitude education, basic counseling techniques, and physiological knowledge—laying a solid foundation for their future roles in serving the campus and community.

The event commenced in the afternoon with a lecture by Prof. Oi-Ling SIU, Director of the Lingnan University Wofoo Joseph Lee Consulting and Counselling Psychology Research Centre. She effectively guided students in reviewing the key content of the four sessions, reinforcing their knowledge of psychology and counseling techniques. The closing segment followed, where Prof. Siu highlighted the programme's achievements, stating, "Wellness Ambassadors play a crucial role in promoting mental health on campus. I hope students will transform what they have learned into actionable efforts to help others." Dr. Sammy LEUNG from the Faculty of Business encouraged students to continue practicing and leveraging their strengths. The event concluded with a group photo of all participants, commemorating this critical moment.

A special segment of the event featured student presentations, where groups shared their mental health awareness campaigns and counseling case studies conducted on campus. Participants creatively applied their training, demonstrating their ability to "help others while helping themselves." Prof. Siu provided personalized feedback and took commemorative photos with each group, celebrating their progress.

At the end of the event, participants completed post-session questionnaires to assess their learning outcomes. Data indicated significant improvements in resilience, prosocial behavior, and counseling skills among the attendees.

DBA student Shunen Hu stated, "In the programme training, I deeply realized that the core of stress management lies in 'cognitive restructuring' and 'action transformation.' By using cognitive behavioral therapy to identify 'catastrophic thinking' and breaking anxiety down into specific problems, we can reduce emotional exhaustion by 80%. As an ambassador, I will continue to convey the idea that 'stress is growth,' helping more people use scientific strategies to refine stress into resilience in life.”

MBA student Xiaoya Wang shared, "Participating in this mental health seminar has brought me immeasurable value. As an accounting major, my understanding of psychology was quite shallow, but this event taught me how to regulate my emotions and effectively improve my response to stress and insomnia."

Since its inception, the "Wellness Ambassador Programme" has trained numerous passionate and knowledgeable students to become mental health partners on campus. The successful execution of this event not only summarized the phase's achievements but also motivated the Wellness Ambassadors to continue embodying the philosophy of "help others while helping themselves," contributing to the mental health initiatives within the campus and community.
