On February 21, 2025, the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau invited Dr. Haiming Liu, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Fintech Laboratory, to host a lecture on career selection and employment at the Ho Yin Convention Centre. Dr. Liu has extensive experience working in the government, with around 14 years of experience in Macau. He is responsible for supporting the development of small and medium enterprises in Guangdong and fostering industry-academia-research collaborations among universities. He has an in-depth understanding of the overall development of the Greater Bay Area and Guangdong-Macau cooperation. Dr. Liu is also a member of the advisory board and supervisor at the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau.

Dr. Liu aims to assist students in making precise career choices and finding employment through this lecture. He introduced three main career directions: state-owned enterprises, non-state-owned enterprises, and entrepreneurship, explaining the requirements for each and their employment prospects. He also provided examples of alumni who have successfully found employment in the Greater Bay Area. During the lecture, Dr. Liu connected with a Faculty of Business alumnus who is currently the Deputy Manager of the Procurement Department at Sinopharm Group in Guangzhou for a real-time interactive experience sharing.

The students actively participated in the discussion, expressing that the lecture was highly inspiring and beneficial for their career choices and employment opportunities.
