On December 1, 2024, the first "Innovative Development of Digital Economy in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" seminar was held at the Yuehai Campus of Shenzhen University. The seminar was led by the China Special Economic Zone Research Center of Shenzhen University and co-organized by nine units, including the China Internet Economy Research Institute of Central University of Finance and Economics, the School of Management and Economics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), the Digital Economy Research Center of the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University, the Institute of Economics of Xiamen University, the School of Business (Entrepreneurship College) of Sun Yat-sen University, the School of International Business of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, the Shenzhen Campus of Jinan University, the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau, and the School of Digital Economics of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics.
Associate Dean Yihui Tian and Associate Professor Tingyue Kuang from the City University of Macau's Faculty of Business were invited to represent the faculty at the seminar. During the event, Associate Dean Tian delivered a keynote speech titled “The Impact Mechanism of Enterprise Digital Transformation: Based on a Multi-Industry Perspective” and served as the moderator for the "Artificial Intelligence and New Quality Productivity" discussion. His presentation outlined the main evolutionary processes and impact stages of enterprise digital transformation, identifying key driving and barrier factors across different industries during the transformation process, and concluded with development strategies for enterprise digital transformation.
Associate Professor Tingyue Kuang shared her research report titled “The impact of the matching degree between human capital and industrial structure on regional innovation capability: A case study of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” during the “Real Number Integration and New Quality Productivity” discussion. The report highlighted that as the matching degree between human capital and industry structure in the Greater Bay Area strengthens, the region's innovation capability is gradually improving. To better promote regional innovation and achieve high-quality economic development, the government should formulate corresponding support policies to facilitate better integration among the three regions.
This seminar brought together dozens of experts focusing on three cutting-edge topics: "Digital Economy Discipline Development," "Real Number Integration and New Quality Productivity," and "Artificial Intelligence and New Quality Productivity." Participants conducted comprehensive and in-depth discussions based on the latest research in their respective fields. The seminar facilitated academic exchanges between the City University of Macau's Faculty of Business and leading universities nationwide in the field of economic management, providing an important opportunity for deeper integration in the economic development process of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
