Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Business Invited to Participate in the "Dazhi Forum: Legal Observations on Intelligent Social Governance (2023-2024)"

Dr. Limeng Yu, a faculty member of the Faculty of Business, has been invited to participate in the "Dazhi Forum: Legal Observations on Intelligent Social Governance (2023-2024)" conference. This conference is jointly organized by Peking University Law School, China Law Exchange Foundation, and the Peking University Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Development Research Institute.

 

During the conference, Dr. Yu delivered a speech in the sub-forum titled "Legal Issues and Practices of Technology Transfer." Her speech was titled "Exploring the Role of the Patent System in Technology Transfer: Promoter, Coordinator, or Lever?" In the context of the digital era, Dr. Yu emphasized the acceleration of technological and business model innovation through digital technologies like artificial intelligence. Dr. Yu highlighted the importance of adopting a multidisciplinary approach and integrating the patent system with platform thinking. She proposed moving away from the conventional viewpoint of value creation focused on control, entry barriers, and differentiation. Instead, she suggested shifting towards a more valuable multilateral market exchange.

 

The main theme of the conference is "Legal Observations on Intelligent Social Governance." It encompasses four insightful sub-forums, namely "Artificial Intelligence Technology, Legislation, and Judicial Practices," "Compliance, Openness, and Utilization of Intelligent Social Data," "Protection of Traditional Cultural Intellectual Property and Legal Regulation of NFT Digital Collectibles," and " Legal Issues and Practices of Technology Transfer." These sub-forums serve as a valuable platform for advancing theoretical research and facilitating practical implementation in the dynamic field of intelligent social governance. Through the speech and exchange at the conference, Dr. Yu positively participated the exchange and interaction between the management and legal perspectives of intelligent social governance, and jointly advances the exchange of theories and practices in the field of social sciences, and thereby contributing to the knowledge advancement of intelligent social governance.
