The Faculty of Business invited Professor Chen Xi from Zhejiang University and Associate Professor Yu Jie from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China to give a special academic lecture and experience sharing session to the students of the DBA program on January 19th. The event took place at the Ho Yin Convention Centre - HG01 Conference Hall.
First, the two professors introduced their respective universities. Associate Professor Yu Jie shared information about the university he teaches at and the collaborative projects between the university and various digital economy teams. These projects include shared transportation platforms, digital economy and ecosystems for live broadcasting platforms, and operational optimization of cross-border e-commerce platforms. He then delved into his research on "Health Information Retrieval Capabilities of the Elderly Population under the Digital Divide," citing his research findings to stimulate the students' thinking.
Professor Chen Xi introduced the achievements of the School of Management at Zhejiang University in IT/IS research and application, as well as its partnership with enterprises and the work of the Center for Research on Zhejiang Digital Development and Governance. Subsequently, he delivered a lecture on "Research and Practice of E-Commerce Live Short Video Optimization" introducing the strategy of e-commerce live short video optimization platforms, the optimization analysis framework, the optimization analysis techniques, the data analysis, the point of view of semantic features of the content, and the application of e-commerce live dialogues and cognitive-behavioral modeling in the analysis of short videos. These insights provided students with a deeper understanding of the field of e-commerce live streaming and short videos.
The students actively engaged with the professors, asking questions and participating in academic discussions after the presentations. This special lecture provided an opportunity for the students to interact directly with the professors, enriching their academic knowledge and stimulating their interest in their research areas, as well as promoting academic exchanges and cooperation. The FOB will continue to organize such academic activities to provide students with more opportunities to interact with top professors.
