FOB faculties and students attend the Greater Bay Area Industry-University-Research Forum

On June 16, the Greater Bay Area Industry-University-Research Forum "Biodiversity Accounting, Sustainable Development and Ecotourism: Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area" was successfully held at Macau Institute of Tourism, Taipa Campus, attracting more than 100 online and offline participants from local community organizations, Greater Bay Area cities and international academia. FOB Assistant Prof. Tiffany C. H. Leung and Senior Lecturer Cathy Hang I Cheong attended the forum with 8 second- year MBA and 3 DBA students.

 

The forum was organized by Macao Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility in Greater China and the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies. It combined the three elements of industry, education and research. Four experts from industry and academic were invited to deliver keynote speeches. The speakers included experts and scholars in the fields of biodiversity accounting and ecotourism, representatives of relevant Macao government departments and leaders of related industry projects in the Greater Bay Area. They shared their experiences and insights on topics such as biodiversity accounting, vegetation resources and ecological restoration in Macau, ecotourism and panda conservation. Leading academics and industry professionals at the forum offered their advice on shaping the biodiversity, sustainability and future of ecotourism.

 

The aim of the forum was to enhance public awareness of the conservation of natural resources by promoting biodiversity accounting and sustainable development, meanwhile, to explore the new directions for ecotourism.
