CityU team wins national championship at “Internet+” competition

A student team of the City university of Macau (CityU) won a national gold award at the 8th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Their project, "Tang Chao Shi Ren," is pioneered in China to promote Tang poetry education with intellectual property (IP) engagement. The innovative "IP+Education" model was the first project in Macao that has ever achieved such an honor and made the final four. Meanwhile, the team also won the best innovation award in the national postgraduate category and was the only project in Macao to win this award. The grand final was concluded at Chongqing University.


The “Tang Chao Shi Ren” project is created by seven CityU students and six students from mainland universities. They are Du Lijie, Wang Yiran, Hong Xinxing, and Wan Yan from the Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau; Gao Jialin and Meng Jingwen from the Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries; Chen Guangshun from the Faculty of Data Science; Liu Delin from the Northwest University of Political Science and Law; Lu Yuqi from the Shandong University; Liu Yuanyuan, Qian Jiahui, Lin Yuhan, and Zhang Meijuan from the Sichuan Tourism University.


The project was supervised by Association Dean Gavin Chau Ka Yin of the Faculty of Business, Head Lewis Chao Chan Chong of the Student Affairs Office, and Professor Wang Bo. Under the leadership of the CityU student Du Lijie, the team made the best result since the University participated in the annual China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.


The China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is the most renowned of its kind in China, attracting a wide range of declared and international projects with a large number of student participants annually. This year, the seven-month-long competition attracted over 3.4 million entries from 111 countries and regions and 4,554 institutions, with 14.5 million participants.
