From April 2 to April 4, the first and second year IBC students visited Guangzhou and Jiangmen. The event was led by Professor Priscilla Roberts, Course Coordinator of the International Business Cohort Programme. The students visited Hongdaxingye Group, Gosuncn Technology Group Co., Ltd., the JFC Group, GuangdongELX Lighting Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Xinhui Meida Nylon Co., Ltd., and also Wuyi University, the Republic of China Huangpu Military Academy, and the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleun of the Nanyue King.
The students first visited Guangzhou Yuan Building, where they were welcomed by Dr. Lin Shaohan, Secretary of the Hongdaxingye Group. Dr. Lin showed the students Guangdong Plastics Exchange and The Soil herbarium. The Plastics Exchange is the first plastic trading platform in South China that integrates a trading center, a logistics center and an information center. The Soil herbarium shows the results of the collection and scientific research of the group. It also has a special greenhouse to test plant growth. According to reports, the Herbarium promotes the development of environmental protection in China by analyzing the characteristics of China's soil. During the visit, the students exchanged ideas with the representative of the sample museum to learn more about the operation of the Guangdong Plastic Exchange.
Later, the students visited Gosuncn Technology Group. The group cooperates extensive cooperation with public security, police, operators, banks, railway bureaus, and enterprises and institutions in various provinces and cities to implement security technology in every area of the city. Its latest products include law enforcement recorders, police patrol management platforms, and automotive electronics, logos, face recognition systems, intelligent analysis systems and other hardware and software configurations, including robots. Deputy Director Li Li introduced the management framework and the advanced operating mechanism of corporate democracy to the students.
The following day, the students visited JFC Group. The company was founded more than 20 years ago. It is a high-tech enterprise that specializes in family health care. The students interacted with corporate representatives on topics such as the patent acquisition process and overseas market expansion. In the afternoon, the students visited the site of the Republic of China Huangpu Military Academy and the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King to encounter past heroes and their deeds in times of war and appreciate Chinese traditions. This trip will enable students to have a clearer understanding of China’s historical development over time.
On April 4th, Professor Roberts and the students visited Wuyi University for academic exchanges. They were warmly received by Lin Faqiu, Director of the SME Bureau of Jiangmen City, and Dr. Yu Xuehua, the representative of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress and the provincial government. In the afternoon, under the leadership of Dr. Yu Xueli and Professor Roberts, the students visited Guangdong ELX Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Xinhui Meida Nylon CO., Ltd., to learn more about the composition, development history and business model of the manufacturing production line.
At this point, the company visits and exchange learning activities were successfully concluded, and the group came back to Macau via Zhuhai.
