On April 18, 2018, the opening ceremony of the International Conference “Belt and Road Initiative--Entrepreneurship Education and Family Business Transformation” was held at the City University of Macau. The seminar focused on topics including entrepreneurship education along the Belt and Road, international innovation and entrepreneurship development, corporate sustainable development, and family business transformation. Invited domestic and foreign experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions and published a conference. As the guests at the opening ceremony looked on, Professor Andrew Lock, Professor Zhang Shuguang, Professor Wang Chongming and Professor Eva Khong opened the International Conference on “Belt and Road Initiative--Entrepreneurship Education and Family Business Transformation” and announced the formal establishment of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance. Professor Wang Chongming presided over the round table meeting and outlined the overall development of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance. He also expressed his good wishes for the Macao base and his appreciation for the presence of the guests who have come to witness and take part in this event. Professor Wang Chongming believes that universities deserving AMBA certification have a higher degree of consciousness of "One Belt and One Road," and therefore contribute more to this initiative. The International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance will not only take the lead in promoting human progress and economic construction, but will also profoundly affect the world’s economic development and situation. The founding of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance Macau Base is of far-reaching significance. It has formed a unique match with the distinctive teaching of the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau. He encouraged as many as possible to participate in alliance activities and jointly promote the country's international education platform. During the meeting, distinguished guests delivered individual speeches offering for the future development of the alliance.
On April 18th, at 2:30PM, the “One Belt One Road International Education Conference on Entrepreneurship Education and Family Business Transformation” took place in Room HG01 of City University of Macau. The conference was hosted by Professor Wang Chongming. The speakers included Professor Andrew Godley, Professor Tiziano Vescovi, Professor Tadao Onaka, Professors Francisco BS Jose Leandro, and Professor Eva Khong, who delivered keynote speeches on the transformation of entrepreneurship education and family business along the Belt and Road. Professor Andrew Godley highlighted the favorable situation for the combination of entrepreneurship education and policy, stating that as a strategic move to promote sustainable economic development under the “new normal,” the One Belt One Road Business Education will become an important and vital force for national innovation and development. Professor Tiziano Vescovi focused on the difficulties faced by family businesses in coping with challenges such as international transformation and inheritance, and proposed solutions for these problems. Professor Tadao Onaka has studied the results of family businesses over many years, based on the findings of a survey of thousands of family companies in Tokyo, Japan. Professor Francisco B. S. Jose Leandro analyzed the entrepreneurial and business models of responsible companies and explained the impact of business models on family businesses. Professor Eva Khong discussed opportunities and opportunities for the transformation of family businesses in China and Hong Kong. Professor Lock summed up the views of the meeting and proposed the fundamentals of entrepreneurship education, highlighting the link between family businesses and the One Belt One Road policy. At the conference, students actively asked questions. Professor Wang Chongming and other speakers answered the students individually. The atmosphere was highly conducive to academic exchange. All looked forward to the forthcoming publication of Professor Wang Chongming’s new book on The Belt-Road Initiative and Entrepreneurship Competence, which will incorporate findings from the meeting.
