On October 13th, Assistant Professor Dr. Wendy Wang and Ph.D. students of FOB attended the Conference jointly hosted by Hang Seng Management College and Peter F. Drucker Academy in Hong Kong with the theme of “Management as a Liberal Art: Revitalization and Localization”.
This conference invited both prestigious scholars as well as outstanding practitioners to share their insights into various management phenomena and problems. Prof. Simon Ho, president of HSMC, Dr. Darwin Chen, board chairman of Peter F. Drucker Academy, Mr. Shao Ming Lo, the founder of Peter F. Drucker Academy, and Prof. Peter Ping Li etc. delivered their keynote speeches in the conference. They reached the conclusion that aside from technical training in professional areas as accounting, finance, marketing and operations, an understanding of the role and nature of virtue in society, maximization of human liberty and protection of the greatest interests of society is important for the sustainable development of management based on the Drucker’s philosophy of management as a liberal art. Our faculty member and Ph.D. students proposed on-site questions, and talked with the professions on interested points during tea-break intervals. The interactions with scholars and practitioners greatly inspired the learning passion of our students and enriched their research scope.
