Prof. Priscilla Roberts Delivers Keynote Address at Zhejiang University, May 19-21, 2017

Associate Professor Priscilla Roberts of the Faculty of Business, City University of Macau, was invited to deliver a keynote address at a conference on “Cultural Integration and Cultural Conflict: Great Power Relations and Hong Kong.”  This meeting was organized by the Institute of World History, the Center for American Studies, and the Research Center of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou.

The seminar took place from May 19 to 21, 2017, and was attended by a group of distinguished scholars and political commentators drawn from China, Hong Kong, the United States, and Britain.  Professor Roberts spoke on “British and American Cultural Activities in Cold War Hong Kong,” a talk based on her recent book on Hong Kong in the Cold War.  Her address provoked lively comments and discussion.  The FOB intends to build on these links with Zhejiang University, to enhance its international profile as a leading centre of research on Macao and the surrounding region.
