On 27th March, Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, and 50 FOB students were invited to participate in “Global Money Week – Opening Ceremony” at the Faculty of Business Administration Hall at The University of Macao. This ceremony was organized by the Macau Institute of Financial Services, supported by the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau.

Top officials of the Monetary Authority of Macao, local higher educational institutions and banks were invited to attend the ceremony. Mr. António José Félix Pontes, Chairman of the Executive Board of Macau Institute of Financial Services, delivered a welcome speech highlighting the theme of “Learn, Save, Earn”, an initiative designed to use different activities to promote financial education among teenagers. FOB staff members Ms. Joy Zhang and Mr. Tommy Tam, who witnessed this great event, supported the emcee and undertook related preparatory work for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, FOB teachers and students joined in the opening ceremony of the Currency Museum and a thematic forum with seven bankers from China’s mainland and Macao. Besides visiting the Currency Museum to learn more of the history of currency in Macao and around the world, students communicated actively with guest speakers during the following seminar.  This focused on deepening understanding of the concept of the opportunities for Macao and its development offered by regional cooperation projects, such as One Belt One Road, serving as the Lusophone Countries Exchange Platform, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and so forth. FOB students found this seminar exceptionally valuable in terms of enhancing both their financial understanding and future career planning.
