FOB Holds “2017 Registered Financial Consultant Graduation and Conferment Ceremony”

On the afternoon of 11th March, the Registered Financial Consultant Graduation and Conferment Ceremony, co-organized by the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau (FOB), the Macau Institute of Financial Services (MIFS) and the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, Hong Kong and Macau (IARFC), took place at L105 of City U. Attending the Ceremony were Professor Shu Guang Zhang, Rector of City U; Professor Sean Li, Registrar of City U; Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business; Professor Rui Rocha, Director of the Department of Portuguese Language and Culture of Portuguese-speaking Countries; Mr. António José Félix Pontes, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Macau Institute of Financial Services; Ms. Evelyn Kun, General Secretary to the Executive Board of the Macau Institute of Financial Services; Mr. Lao Kam Chio, Adviser to the Executive Board of the Macau Institute of Financial Services; Dr. Teresa So, Chairman of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, Hong Kong and Macau; Mr. Allan Wan, Executive Director of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants Hong Kong and Macau Centre Company Limited; Mr. Chris Ma, Chief Executive Officer of AIA International Limited; Ms. Manda Chan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AIA International Limited; Mr. David Lo Chi Man, Assistant Director of Business Training & Development of AIA International Limited; Dr. Vincent Huen, Senior Treasurer of the Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. and a FOB Advisory Board member; and Ms. Chen Fen, Director of the Personal Banking Department of the Bank of China (Macau Branch).

 

In his opening speech, Rector Zhang thanked all those guests attending for their support. He also congratulated and encouraged all the graduating students. Rector Zhang highlighted how eagerly the FOB seeks to participate in promoting the financial industry through development and education. As it strengthens the professional training, education and activities it undertakes in the Monetary, Finance and Accounting fields, the FOB always places great emphasis on developing the financial industry in Macao and the neighboring region. Rector Zhang congratulated the Registered Financial Consultants on their current success and anticipated their continued further progress in future. He also looked forward to even greater cooperation among the FOB, MIFS and IARFC, which would bring new power and momentum to the development of the Macao financial industry. Mr. António Félix Pontes, Chairman of MIFS, Dr. Teresa So, Adviser for Hong Kong and Macau, IARFC, and Mr. Chris Ma, Chief Executive Officer of AIA also offered warm congratulations to the graduates. Mr. Pontes reminded the audience that the “Global Money Week” activities, which the FOB has been invited to support, is taking place. A series of seminars will be inaugurated, to be held at the Ho Yin Convention Centre at City U Taipa Campus. Mr. Pontes expected their multilateral cooperation will be highly effective in boosting the development of the local financial industry. Finally, as a means of encouraging academic dialogue between the guests and students, Associate Professor Wang Yinggui of the FOB gave a presentation on “Excel at your Job.”

 

Following the ceremony, the Faculty held a tea reception, where all the City U leaders, graduates and guests gathered in a jubilant atmosphere. To mark this special moment, the graduates took photographs with their family and friends.
