On 23rd February, Dr. Anita F.Y. Leung, a Faculty of Business Advisory Board member, Co-Chairman of the Huaxia Winco Cultural Assets Group Co., Ltd., and a famous Hong Kong writer, had a dialogue with the International Business Cohort in room L105. During this inaugural “Dialogue with a CEO”, Dr. Leung shared with students her experiences in setting up and running business ventures.
Dr. Anita Leung is a Hong Kong entrepreneur, who established the first Philippine maid employment company, Bexley Company Ltd., and the Qin Jia Yuan Publishing Company. She is also a famous novelist, who has written over 140 books, most of them business-themed novels based on her own experiences. Her bestselling books always provide insights into commercial and managerial practices.
The International Business Cohort were interested in how Dr. Leung became an entrepreneur and asked numerous questions about how she pursued her business career. Dr. Leung generously answered all their questions, sharing her experiences and ideas with the students. Dr. Leung advised students to act responsibly in business rather than focusing purely on individual gain. Giving herself as an example, she explained the name of her company: Qin Jia Yuan means hard-work plus opportunity. This was the key to her success.
Dr. Leung gave one set of her books to the International Business Cohort, to encourage students to read more and be more determined and persistent. The dialogue ended in a joyful and happy atmosphere.
