The signing ceremony for Joint Program Agreement between the Faculty of Business, CityU; Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) and International Association of Registered Financial Consultants Hong Kong and Macau Centre Company Limited (IARFC) held on 4th January. Dr. António Pontes, Chairman of the Executive Board of IFS and Professor Shuguang Zhang, Rector of CityU, attended the ceremony and signed the agreement. Dr. Teresa So, Chairman, International Association of Registered Financial Consultants Hong Kong and Macau Centre Company Limited will sign the agreement on 11th March.
Rector Zhang and Dr. Pontes conducted a profound talk before the signing ceremony. Both parties expressed their deep concern about the future perspective of financial education development in Macao and agreed that the two Institutions would collaborate further in terms of launching more certificate courses as well as steering more academic and social activities in order to nurture Macau financial expertise. Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of Faculty of Business of CityU and Ms. Evelyn Kun, General Secretary to the Executive Board of Macau Institute of Financial Services attended and witnessed the said ceremony.
The agreement was signed upon continuation of the initial agreement contracted in 2014 by the two Institutions with the aims to promote financial education in Macao. Courses of the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) professional designation, including professional certificate and diploma programme, were offered over the years to develop financial expertise, as well as to advocate the financial business sector to coincide with the moderate economic diversification of Macao.
