The 16th National College Students E‑commerce "Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship" Challenge (commonly known as the "San Chuang" Competition) has recently concluded. The Faculty of Business at City University of Macau fielded two teams, both of which performed exceptionally well and each secured a National Second Prize—a testament to the outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities of our students.

The "Leling π Team," guided by Assistant Professor Dr. Li Yi, comprised team leader Lu Guanliang and members Li Chufei, Liao Henghui, Gu Yiwen, and Xiao Zhiyi. The team developed the "Leling Worry‑Free" project focusing on elderly care services, addressing the challenges of an ageing society. They conducted in‑depth field research at local care homes, listening to the real needs of senior citizens and continuously refining their project framework and business model. The team won the Grand Prize in the Macau regional round, along with three special awards—Best Innovation, Best Creativity, and Best Entrepreneurship—and went on to claim a National Second Prize in the finals.

The "Light of Macau" team, guided by Assistant Professors Dr. Yu Kaidong and Dr. Xi Xunzhuo, comprised team leader Chen Jiayao and members Zhuang Wenyuan, Hua Jien, Pang Zihan, and Yue Xinzheng. Their project, "Brick Journey Macau – An Intelligent Tourism Platform Combining Cultural Tourism and Intangible Cultural Heritage," showcased local cultural characteristics through an innovative smart tourism service. The team earned a First Prize in the Macau regional round and subsequently secured a National Second Prize in the national finals. Their advisors, Dr. Li Yi, Dr. Yu Kaidong, and Dr. Xi Xunzhuo, were all honoured as Best Advisors in the Macau region.

The competition experience allowed team members to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing their skills in market analysis, project operations, teamwork, and adaptability. Exchanging ideas with outstanding teams from other universities also broadened their horizons and deepened their understanding of their own strengths and areas for growth.

Team leader Lu Guanliang of the Leling π Team shared: "Every step from the Macau Grand Prize to the National Second Prize represents the hard work and perseverance of our team. We are especially grateful to Dr. Li Yi for her guidance, and to the university and the senior citizens at the care homes for their invaluable support and suggestions."

Chen Jiayao, team member of the "Light of Macau," reflected: "As FOB students, the San Chuang Competition provided a rare opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practical applications, allowing us to operate our project in a more realistic and time‑sensitive market environment. Throughout this process, we received professional guidance from multiple judges and advisors, while also strengthening our organisational, communication, and presentation skills."
