On 22 October 2026, the 4th Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development was held in Macau. Assistant Professors Peixin Zuo, Yafan Yu, and Tingyu Luo from the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau attended the conference and participated in several parallel sessions to gain insights into industrial development trends and emerging opportunities for regional cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Under the theme "Integrating the Greater Bay Area for a Connected World," the conference brought together representatives from government, business, and academia to exchange views on industrial collaboration, technological innovation, international market expansion, and investment cooperation. Discussions explored new directions for regional economic integration and high-quality development.
The three faculty members attended three parallel sessions covering technological and industrial innovation, the role of tourism and conventions and exhibitions in connecting the GBA with international markets, and investment funds and industrial development. Among these, the session titled "Promoting Synergistic Development of the Greater Bay Area’s Technological and Industry Innovation by Leveraging its Advantages"focused on integrating regional innovation resources, strengthening industrial collaboration, and facilitating the commercialization of technological achievements. Discussions also explored how cities across the GBA could leverage their respective strengths to foster closer integration between technology and industry.
The other sessions addressed the expansion of tourism, conventions, and exhibitions into international markets, as well as the role of investment funds in facilitating industrial cooperation and resource allocation. Speakers shared industry experiences and practical insights, highlighting opportunities and challenges related to cross-border collaboration, industrial upgrading, and internationalization in the GBA.
Participation in the conference provided the faculty members with valuable insights into industrial developments and business innovation practices across the GBA, while offering opportunities to engage with the business community. The topics discussed also align with the interests of the Faculty of Business Case Centre in business development, cross-border operations, and industrial cooperation, providing useful perspectives for future business case research, industry studies, and practice-oriented teaching.
