On the 5th December, the Faculty of Business at the City University of Macau held a practical-oriented workshop titled "Turning Small Issues into None: Conflict Resolution × Future Workplace Dynamics." The event aimed to help the younger generation master cross-cultural human resource management skills in the AI era through positive energy tool experiences, expert sharing, and group discussions, fostering resilience and leadership in the face of workplace changes. As the final session of the cross-cultural management course this semester, the workshop emphasized the application of theory, enabling students not only to learn cross-cultural and human resource knowledge but also to apply it in practical scenarios to navigate a rapidly evolving technological society.

 

The event began with a sharing session by a faculty lecturer on current trends in the human resources field: "Although the classroom teaches various cross-cultural theories and human resource knowledge, technology is advancing rapidly, and the future workplace will be dominated by human-machine interaction, where flexibility and intrinsic motivation are crucial. Maintaining emotional stability, managing stress, and adapting to change will become core soft skills." The lecturer emphasized that the workshop focused on practical conflict resolution techniques to help students enhance team dynamics.

 

The workshop started with a mindful experience, followed by a keynote session by the invited trainer, Mr. Ben Wong. He shared "Turning Small Issues into None: Practical Conflict Resolution Techniques," delving into the positive and negative effects of emotions and examining common types of workplace conflicts, including conflicts among employees, between customers and employees, and between customers. He also provided practical coping strategies: avoid, mitigate, redirect, and accept. He encouraged students to view conflicts as opportunities for growth from an HR perspective.

 

The subsequent group discussion session focused on "How to use positive energy and conflict resolution to enhance employee self-reporting rates and boost team dynamics?" Students proposed innovative solutions. During the discussion, multiple groups emphasized "address emotions first, then solve problems," suggesting that HR should prioritize employee well-being.

 

The faculty lecturer expressed that organizing such workshops aims to strengthen students' practical human resource skills and cultivate their leadership qualities for balancing future workplace dynamics.
