On November 19, Dr. Haiming Liu, Faculty of Business Advisor, Master's Supervisor, and Director of the Guangdong Provincial FinTech Laboratory, was invited to deliver a career develop lecture for senior undergraduate and second-year postgraduate students in Business Administration. The lecture focused on the current employment situation, provided an in-depth interpretation of national policy directions, and outlined career development paths for students.
Against the dual backdrop of record-high numbers of university graduates and the ongoing advancement of the "New Quality Productive Forces" strategy, Dr. Liu emphasized analyzing the structure and employment potential of state-owned and central enterprises. He aimed to help students fully understand the career directions and opportunities within different types of enterprises. As the state promotes the high-quality development of state-owned enterprises, he advised graduates to closely monitor the recruitment policies of these enterprises, such as special programs and internship projects under the "Stable Employment" directive, and to gain relevant experience in advance. Furthermore, Dr. Liu reminded students to focus on developing soft skills, such as communication, collaboration, and project management capabilities, to meet the demand for versatile talent in state-owned and central-administered enterprises.
He mentioned that against the current background of economic structural transformation, university students need to broaden their perspectives and proactively adapt to market demands. He encouraged students to stay informed about industry trends and enhance their interdisciplinary abilities and digital literacy.
During the Q&A session, he advised students to understand their own needs clearly, combine their personal interests with professional expertise, define their career positioning, and avoid blindly following trends.
This lecture provided students with practical employment guidance, assisting them in precisely planning their career paths within the context of new policies. Students expressed that through Dr. Liu's analysis, they gained a clearer understanding of the employment opportunities and development paths within state-owned and central enterprises. They stated they would actively adjust their job-seeking strategies to achieve steady progress in their personal careers.
