Professor Miguel Baptista Nunes, doctoral supervisor from the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau, was recently invited to participate in the "World-Renowned Scientists Lecture Program in Hubei," where he delivered a specialized academic lecture at Hubei University of Chinese Medicine.

Titled "The Importance of Research Methods in Innovation of High Quality Technologies," Professor Miguel began his lecture by elaborating on the concept of research and systematically discussing the validity of academic studies in the field of computer and information sciences. From the perspective of testing and evaluation, he conducted an in-depth analysis of whether relying solely on experimental methods is sufficient to drive high-quality scientific innovation. He also highlighted the principles and methodologies of "Design Research." Professor Miguel emphasized that scientific research should not be confined to traditional experiments and testing but should place greater emphasis on evaluation and practical application, striving to build a knowledge system with tangible value that is understood and validated by society.

Following the lecture, Professor Miguel further discussed the details of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities with the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation at Hubei University of Chinese Medicine. Both sides exchanged views on various areas, including academic exchanges, joint seminars, organization of domestic and international conferences, collaboration in intelligent Chinese medicine, cross-institutional student cultivation, and the co-creation of summer schools, reaching multiple consensus points.

The Faculty of Business will continue to promote collaborative exchanges with more outstanding institutions, further fostering synergistic development and mutual progress between the faculty and universities.
