The Faculty of Business of City University of Macau and Guangdong Calibration Environmental Science Co., Ltd. Establish Greater Bay Area Industry-Academia-Research Hub

To deeply integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strengthen the linkage between business education and industrial practice, the Faculty of Business (FOB) of City University of Macau and Guangdong Calibration Environmental Science Co., Ltd. (CES) jointly inaugurated the "Industry-University-Research Base of the Faculty of Business, City University of Macau - Guangdong Calibration Environmental Science Co., Ltd." on the morning of June 12, 2025. José Alves, Dean of the Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau, and Ms. Fang Yu, General Manager of Guangdong Calibration Environmental Science Co., Ltd., signed the agreement and unveiled the plaque. Attendees included Haiming Liu, Director of the International Finance and Technology Laboratory of Great Bay Area of Guangdong Province, Dejun Xie, DBA Programme Director of the Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau, and three deputy general managers of CES.

 

In his speech, Dean José Alves pointed out that this collaboration represents a significant breakthrough for the FOB in industry-university-research cooperation within the environmental field. Guangdong Calibration Environmental Science Co., Ltd. boasts rich experience in environmental testing, and the proximity between the two parties offers favorable conditions for cooperation. The FOB will integrate its faculty, scientific research, and other resources, collaborate with CES to break down disciplinary barriers, focus on environmental business model innovation and green finance, and cultivate interdisciplinary talents.

 

Director Haiming Liu congratulated the establishment of the base and mentioned that it would serve as a platform for university-enterprise exchanges and cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, facilitating the cultivation of high-tech talents and technological research and development. General Manager Fang Yu expressed gratitude for the policy support from the Greater Bay Area government and assistance from all parties, stating that her company would closely cooperate with the Faculty of Business to jointly advance the construction of the base.

 

This collaboration marks an important step in the integration of industry-university research at the FOB and will provide talent and intellectual support for the green development and economic transformation of the Greater Bay Area.
