Dr. Liu Haiming Presents Seminar on Graduation Planning and Employment Options in the Greater Bay Area

On March 13th, the FOB successfully organized a seminar featuring Dr. Liu Haiming, master tutor, member of the advisory board at the FOB, and Director of Guangdong Provincial Fintech Laboratory, to deliver an engaging seminar on graduation planning and employment choices in the Greater Bay Area.

 

The seminar, titled "Graduation Planning and Employment Options in the Greater Bay Area - Analysis of Central State-Owned Enterprises as a Clue," aimed to thoroughly explore the development planning and employment prospects for FOB students in the Greater Bay Area.

 

At the beginning of the session, Dean José Alves warmly welcomed Dr. Liu Haiming and presented him with a souvenir as a gesture of welcome. Subsequently, Dr. Liu commenced the seminar in a clear and understandable manner, captivating the students' interest and fostering meaningful discussions that encouraged active participation.

 

Dr. Liu posed several thought-provoking questions about the Greater Bay Area, which aroused their interest and discussion on the content of the seminar, and at the same time related the questions to graduation planning and career choices. He discussed the impact of the pandemic on job opportunities and further education, as well as the changing economic landscape in Macau and the reshuffling of large-scale enterprises in mainland China, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the current market conditions in the Greater Bay Area.

 

During the seminar, Dr. Liu guided the students to reflect on their post-graduation directions, including pursuing advanced studies, seeking employment, or starting their own businesses. He conducted in-depth analyses of each option, emphasizing the importance of developing independent thinking and value systems while continuously striving for self-improvement to find their own niche in the professional world.

 

Furthermore, Dr. Liu highlighted the concept, characteristics, and roles of state-owned enterprises and central state-owned enterprises, offering detailed explanations of different types of these entities. This information helped students gain insights into various employment opportunities and career paths within different enterprises.
