FOB students visited Forum between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao)

On November 17, the MBA students from the FOB – Faculty of Business of City University visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries at the Complex of the Economic and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as well as the retrospective exhibition of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Forum Macao and the Exhibition Hall of Products of Portuguese-speaking Countries. This activity organized by invited lecturer of FOB MBA program, Echo Chan, with purpose to provide students with a deeper understanding of the economic and trade conditions of Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as the economic exchanges and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.


Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng and Deputy Secretary-General Zandong of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao had an active inter-exchange session with the students. Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng shared his point of views on the development of China's economy and foreign trade, the original aspiration of creation of Forum Macao and the cooperation mechanism between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as its role in foreign trade between the participants countries.  In the question and exchange session, the students actively participated in it.


Secretary-General Ji encouraged the students to extend their horizons, deepen their understanding of Macao's functions as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and actively participate in the cause of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. According to the students, they had gained a deeper understanding of Forum Macao and Macao's role as a service platform for this cooperation mechanism and its integration into the overall development of the mother country.


The students also visited the retrospective exhibition of the 20th anniversary of Forum Macao and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Products Exhibition Centre under the auspices of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to learn more about the current situation of trade products from Portuguese-speaking countries and the investment environment of Portuguese-speaking countries.


According to the students, they had gained a deeper understanding of Forum Macao and Macao's role as a service platform for this cooperation mechanism and its integration into the overall development of the mother country.
