May 5th, 2023. It was a great day for the International Business Cohort (IBC) and some other BBA students as they visited Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP). HKSTP is a leading innovation and technology hub in Asia, where hundreds of companies and research institutions are working on cutting-edge solutions for various sectors. The students had a chance to tour the park, interact with some entrepreneurs and innovators, and learn about the latest trends and developments in science and technology.
The visit was part of the Faculty of Business's initiative to expose its students to different aspects of business and entrepreneurship and foster their creativity and curiosity. The students were divided into groups and assigned to different thematic clusters within the park, such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, smart city, robotics, and green tech. They were guided by HKSTP staff and volunteers who explained the vision and mission of the park, as well as the facilities and services available for the tenants and partners.
The students were impressed by the diversity and dynamism of the park as they saw how various ideas and innovations were being transformed into products and services that could benefit society and the environment. They also enjoyed the interactive exhibits and demonstrations that showcased some of the achievements and breakthroughs made by the park's tenants and partners.
The visit also allowed the students to network with some of the park's tenants and partners, who shared their stories and insights on how they started their ventures, what challenges they faced, what opportunities they seized, and what advice they had for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators. The students were inspired by their passion, perseverance, and willingness to collaborate and learn from each other. They also gained valuable tips and feedback on how to develop their own ideas and projects and how to access the resources and support offered by HKSTP.
The visit ended with a group photo session at the park's visitor center. The students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HKSTP for hosting them and giving them a memorable and enriching experience. They also thanked their faculty members and mentors for organizing this visit and facilitating their learning. They said they learned much from this visit and hoped to apply it to their studies and future careers. They also said they looked forward to revisiting HKSTP and seeing more of its amazing innovations.
