On April 25, 2023, Dr Tiffany Leung took the IBC (International Business Course) Year 3 students and six FOB colleagues participated in the United Nations World Data Forum Satellite Event - a forum for the development and application of digital technologies for the benefit of humanity.

The participants arrived at the Grand Hyatt Macau venue in the morning to hear a presentation on the digital dilemma by Professor Tshilidizi Marwala, President of the United Nations University. Then, after a tea break, participants follow their preferences to the sub-sessions. Professor Jaimee Stuart presented on the huge role of numbers in health and the challenges.

In this UNU forum, participants delved into data dilemmas across a variety of themes and reflect on whether taking a human-centered systems approach can help solve these problems. The conflict between the use of data and digital technology and human security has led to many data and digital technology dilemmas that cut across the field of work, while the development of data and digital technology has created new opportunities for people's voices to be heard. Participating in this forum is a valuable learning experience for IBC students and our colleagues.
