The Sustainability Tour in Sands China

In order to enhance the perception of sustainability for our FOB students, Dr Tiffany Leung organized the Sustainable Tour in Sands China Ltd on 31 May 2021. Dr Tony Liu, Dr Bowen Dong, and 20 DBA, MBA and BBA students of the Sustainability Club  attended this special event.

 

Ms. Meridith Beaujean, the Executive Director of Sustainability in Sands China Ltd, Ms. Stephanie Zhao, the Associate Director, Ms. Sara Araujo, Senior Project Management of Sustainability-Facilities, and their sustainability team introduced Sands ECO360 Global Sustainability Program, including green meeting and events, waste management and recycling, food waste strategy, banquet food audit, advanced food waste digester, and AI winnow system. After the presentation, Ms. Stephanie Zhao took our students to show the staff member restaurant food waste sorting area, food waste digester and AI winnow system. The sustainable measures could reduce food waste and enhance the food waste education of internal staff and customers effectively.

 

Through this activity, students learned about Sands ECO360 Global Sustainability Program, including people, governance and planet, as a part of corporate strategy.  This sustainability tour not only provides a good opportunity for students to learn the business operation outside the classroom, but also learns how the leading gambling company focuses on managing sustainability in the ever-changing business environment.
