Global Money Week is an annual global event, from 12th March to 18th March. The theme of 2018 is “Money Matters Matter”. The City University of Macau and The Macau Institute of Financial Services co-organised a series of activities to promote financial knowledge. On 16th March, a Global Money Week – Financial Seminar was held at the Ho Yin Exhibition Center, the City University of Macau. More than a hundred students and teachers attended the seminar.
Many distinguished guests attended the seminar, including: Dr. Félix Pontes, the President of the Institute of Financial Services; Dr. Huang Gui Hai, the Director of the School of Business, Macau Polytechnic Institute; Mr. Stewart So, Senior Technician of the Financial Intelligence Office; Ms. Lei Un Ting, Senior Technician of Fundo Segurança Social; Dr. Florence Lei, Senior Lecturer of the School of Business, St. José University; Professor Lewis Tam, Faculty of Finance, the University of Macau; Mr. Zhang Chen, the CEO of Well Link Bank; Mr. Tong Ka Keang, the Chief of the Stock Exchange Centre of ICBC; Ms. Lao Si Lok, the Chief of the Investment Department of Delta Asia Bank; Mr. Benny Chan, Account Manager of Private Banking and Institutional Clients of BNU; Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, the City University of Macau; and Dr. Wang Yinggui, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business, the City University of Macau.
Dr. Félix Pontes, President of the Institute of Financial Services, gave a welcoming address, stating that he hoped this seminar would encourage students to acquire greater financial knowledge and learn more about the value of saving. During the financial seminar, guest speakers constructively discussed various financial topics, such as financial planning, the economy, anti-money laundering, savings, provident funds, investment, and the social situation. The financial seminar inspired great interest in students and was followed by lively discussions. Last but not least, in her closing remarks Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of Faculty of Business, expressed appreciation to the City University of Macau and to all the distinguished guests and thanked the institutions for their great support.
